Inspired By: Three Statement Women
Every week I will be featuring something I am being inspired by, and this week it is an image of the incredible Vogue Nippon Editors taken by The Sartorialist.
I love the girlishness of this photo. Not only the laughter and friendship, but the pops of color and femininity mixed into very tailored looks.
Observing all three of these women, it is easy to take away tips and treasures on how to have personal style.
Beginning with the woman on the left, she chose statement-making wide leg trousers and paired them with a classic double-breasted pea coat. To off-set the drama of the pants, she donned perfect little flats that gave this look a relaxed and casual appeal. Oh..and don’t neglect to notice the box-shaped vintage shoulder bag.
Anna Dello Russo (the fabulous woman in the middle) pulled on basic skinny-fit trousers, a muted button-down blouse and coat, but what made this an eye-catcher was the bow-licious platform heels and green art deco necklace. Accessories have all the power here!
And finally, who would have thought plaid pants could be so playful when accented with bold punches of color.
So there you have it! Three women representing signature style that should inspire you to take your basics and add a little drama. Pull out that crazy scarf and vintage gloves, and don’t be afraid to play dress up.
