Character Dressing: Coco before Chanel

March 5, 2010

Another adventure in Character Dressing, and this is one to hold onto and always take inspiration from. She is the queen of style, the woman who said “Fashion fades, only style remains the same”. Her name is Coco Chanel, and she was recently portrayed by Audrey Tatou in the movie Coco before Chanel.

Watching the movie is a perfect chance for viewers to dive into this strong woman’s world and feast on her daring sense of style. In her time, she was doing everything opposite of what was popular –In order to be irreplaceable one must always be different.” Though daring in her time, she has now become the face of a classic and classy look wearing black and white, pearls and bits of menswear.

Let Coco be your guide, even in a time where it seems everyone wants to be on trend, she would tell us, The most courageous act is still to think for yourself. Aloud.”
