A Weekend Look: One Shirt, Three Days

May 8, 2010

We all have a classic button down shirt (and if you don’t – go get one!), so this weekend I am making it easy for you! One shirt three days, and looking fabulous each and every time.

Friday is an easy end of the week day – you may be finishing up work or running around picking up things for your weekend so casual chic is essential. Tuck your button down shirt into some khaki cuffed pants (you can go slouchy or slim), but don’t forget to add a touch of color with a punchy striped tank underneath. Then layer up the look with a chambray or lightweight blazer and throw on some scoot-around-town oxfords. Finally add your statement piece and you are off – Happy Friday!

Saturday is relaxed and hopefully sun soaked – you may be watching a sports team pitch the ball or reading a book at the park so it’s all about no fuss. Wear your button down loose outside some white denim shorts and make a statement with printed slip-on shoes and a boater hat (or any straw hat will do) – Happy Sunny Saturday!

Sunday is all about being a mom or celebrating a mom – you may be having brunch or throwing a grand ‘ole party so fabulous is your middle name. Pair your button down with a full printed shirt, but leave it untucked and belt it at the waist blousing it out a bit. Then pull on some bright spring shoes, grab a clutch and put on your statement shades – Happy Mom’s Day!

There you have it – one shirt.. three days and now on to the next week.
