Happy Halloween!

October 26, 2010

Halloween is one of my favorite days of the year – it is an excuse to be a character.. to dress up.. in whatever you want.. and live out childhood fantasies!

This year make Halloween about being fashionable and fabulous.. you don’t have to buy a tacky costume.. just use your own clothes to create characters. What would they wear if they were stylish girls living in your city out on the town for a night of socializing and dancing till dawn?

I am thinking…Jem.. Tinkerbell..or Olive Oil. Happy Halloween!

Oh, I love the costume for Olive Oil! But honestly I would totally wear that outfit, Halloween or not! You could do version of the “Carrie Bun” at the nape of you neck and it would be perfect! I used your tutorial for the “carrie bun” this weekend for a wedding. LOVE IT!

Oh man, I LOVE Jem!!! Those accessories are absolutely PERFECT!
IT’s a shame Ottawa Fashion Week is falling on Halloween! It’s interfering with costume time! But I’m sure I’ll have a blast anyway…

I had the same thought! Haha! I picked Eve, Robin Hood and Bat Girl…

Great post! I vote Tinkerbell. It’s a darling look.

I totally agree with you on the tacky costume front. Last year I put together a gothic lolita costume by layering pinned skirts & adding a ruffled shirt and velvet riding coat. I got so many compliments asking if I had rented my costume. The only $$$ I spent was on some lace gloves.

LOL! i’m going to be jem!! it’s been a PAIN getting the pieces together (wig, pink dress, pink tights…) but the DIY part has been a blast-made her earrings and belt/sash-the makeup will also be fun to do!

olive oil is genus. nice work. i agree on using your own clothes for a costume with maybe a few added “accessories.” but i love your take on if they were the stylish girls out on the town. what a perspective change. thanks!
