Carrie Menswear

January 26, 2011

(Blazer, Blouse and Pants – Thrifted Vintage, Pumps – Aldo)

It’s a spin on the Carrie Bradshaw version of menswear! Never too serious or stiff.. always a dash of kooky and a sprinkle of fun.

So, taking a cue from Carrie.. everything looked better candy-colored.

I love this one! And your hair up in a ponytail is the perfect touch!

Love it! I always enjoyed taking a note from Carries spin on menswear. She showed us how to make ties chic and suits sexy. You bring that feminine charm to menswear in a way that’s very Carrie but also very you.

    Very nice styling!

I hope there is more to come of this Carrie series; it’s brought out some of my favorite looks yet! I love anything menswear inspired, and your look is gorgeous! I really like how you anchored the bright colors with the blazer (is it blush?) and nude heels.

What a great outfit! And what great inspiration. I’m a huge menswear fan and sex in the city fan, so I’m glad you pointed out that she usually rocks it with some candy color. Thanks for the tip!

nice…the first shot of you after the montage looked just like SJP (then i noticed she was wearing the same outfit :). really cute blouse, can’t wait to see what you come up with tomorrow.

    Hi Madgie,

No we don’t have a distributor in Atlanta, but you can check out our products online at murvalparis.com. What type of collaboration did you have in mind? We also recently added clothes (tunics, dresses, shirts) and shoes to our line-up.

I love how crazy and confident this look is. The nude pumps really make all of the other contrasting elements ok.

Oh, wow, I love the mauve hue of your jacket with the red pants. So unexpected, yet perfect!

    A few things…
    1) Carrie’s menswear looks are phenomenal and some of the least dated/never going to look less than amazing outfits on the show. I was just musing about her “political wife”/menswear looks on a recent episode on E! (I sooo got sucked in to SATC AGAIN.)

    2) I LOVE seeing your office and how you organize your stylish life. Seeing how many amazing pieces and accessories your have made me wonder…HOW DO YOU ORGANIZE IT? Do you have a bunch of amazing lucite boxes for all your jewels? Is it secretly messy, hmm? What does your closet look like? Since you thrift/vintage/consignment shop so much, are you constantly rotating OUT of your closet, too? Or is it stuffed and bursting at the seams? (I am kind of dying to see the guts of it!)

I adore this look! I guess I loved this side of Carrie the best 🙂
That blouse is phenomenal! I dream to find a blouse like that in my thrifting/ hunting trips. So, far without much luck! 😦

  43. January 27, 2011 2:24 pm

Ooooh, those pants and candy stripe shirt are LOVELY! I never find anything that cool at my local thrift stores. Really jealous of your closet too!! 🙂

It’s kind of amazing how much you look like her, in the second picture I actually thought it was her.
